A public dedication ceremony honoring the 100 year history of the Peoria Garden Club will take place at the Luthy Botanical Garden (2520 N Prospect Rd, Peoria, IL 61603) on Arbor Day, Friday, April 25, 2025 at 10:00am.
In recognition of Arbor Day, two Japanese Maple trees will be planted near a teak bench which overlooks an extended brick path in Crabapple Cove. A Witch Hazel tree has also been donated. Over 200 engraved bricks within the path honor past and current Peoria Garden Club members, as well as friends and family. The path will have been completed so that those who have donated to the project can see the finished project. The installation is very meaningful to our membership.
This project is the culmination of the Peoria Garden Club’s year long celebration of its rich history and positive impact on the community. Through countless hours of volunteer efforts and numerous civic projects, many lives have been inspired through the beauty of flowers, trees and landscaping.
The public is invited to attend along with our members and families. Crabapple Cove is located just south of the greenhouse. To get to the parking lot next to the greenhouse, take Prospect Road to Gift Avenue, turn east onto Gift and follow it to the parking lot.
The Peoria Garden Club is excited to share this special project with the public.
In the meantime, feel free to explore what our club's all about and maybe even consider joining the Peoria Garden Club.
Peoria Garden Club membership is open to any person, no matter their gardening skill level, across the Greater Peoria area and surrounding communities.
